Parent Council Award 2016

Congratulations to Milly, Eleanor, Kirstin and Dominika from S3 who won this year’s Parent Council Award for the creativity they showed in Design Ventura. In addition to the cup they were presented with replicas of the puzle that took them to the final of the design completion in London.

We found it hard to choose a winner from some great nominations this year.

Congratulations to Morvern Graham who won first prize in the Paolozzi Prize for Art Award Ceremony at the National Gallery.

The ceremony was an event showcasing talent from S4-S6 from across the city’s secondary schools. The judges were looking for students who could demonstrate the potential to make a career in art, and who showed artistic quality, maturity and confidence in their medium.

Congratulations to both Brooklyne Rankine and Mr Paterson for being nominated for this year’s Local Hero Awards and making it through from hundreds of entries down to the shortlist.

Brooklyne has been nominated in the Child of Achievement category for her fundraising for the charity Children with Cancer and Leukaemia, Advice and Support for Parents (CCLASP).

Mr Paterson has been nominated in the Teacher of The Year category for his leadership. Recognition of the great teaching at Trinity Academy!

Trinity Pupils Go Forth

Pupils from Trinity Academy visited the Queensferry Crossing Contact and Education Centre for an informative tour of Scotland’s largest infrastructure project.

The opportunity gave them a chance to put what they’d learned in school into context and be inspired about the career opportunities within the STEM sector.

The team are participating in the first Go Forth competition later this year which aims to raise the profile of Engineering.

More Swimming Success

In addition to the Trinity Academy pupils in the previous post, Ted O’Connor and Felix Hale (left) were part of the bronze medal winning 4x100m team for their age group.

They are also East District gold medal winners at the 4 x 100 relay.

Congratulations to Ted, Felix and everyone else from Trinity Academy who took part in these championships.
