Recognising Achievement

The school and the Parent Council are keen to recognise pupils’ achievements; not just those in school but also in the wider community and the successes of former pupils. Pupils can report these themselves via their registration teacher and via pupil support. These may be displayed on the screen in the foyer, and feature in the school or PC newsletters. Parents are also encouraged to email the office about any pupil achievements out of school.

The Parent Council also celebrates Trinity Academy pupils’ wider successes. Share these with us via our contact page, by email or on our Facebook group.

Prize Giving

Prize-giving takes place in the last term of the school year and recognises achievements in class but also service to the community, creativity, and Duke of Edinburgh awards. The evening is invitation-only due to numbers involved and prizes are generally presented by a guest speaker.

Pupils at prize giving

S1 pupils receive awards at the prize giving event and at house assemblies. Some awards such as the Peter G Galloway Award for Services to the Community are open to pupils from all years, and previous winners have included S1 pupils.

The Parent Council presents awards recognising creativity and resourcefulness with two awards made each year to pupils from S1-S3 and another for pupils from S4-S6. Pupils and staff have the opportunity to nominate either as an individual or a group and pupils can also nominate themselves.

Sports Personality of the Year

This pupil-run event takes place in the last term of school year. Recent winners have often represented their sport at national level and have included Eartha Cummings (football), Lewis Smith (sailing) and Josef di Domenico (rugby). The last two years’ awards were presented by former Scotland rugby player, Scott Hastings and former Scotland footballer (and former pupil) Darren Jackson.
