Two of our members attended the full Council meeting at the City Chambers today as a deputation. We called on members to ensure investment at Trinity Academy remains in the budget for this year.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the survey of parents’ views we carried out in October and November. We received over 200 responses and that’s fantastic rate for a survey of this type.
We have prepared a report looking at what parents have to say about the parent council and the school. The responses have been overwhelmingly positive and supportive of the school and the parent council. We will follow-up on potential areas for improvement in two ways:
- For areas related to the Parent Council, we will look at how we can change the way we work to address any issues raised.
- For areas related to the school, we will identify the themes that have emerged and provide supporting to the senior leadership team.
The report is available in our documents area.
Congratulations to Max (S5) who received an award from top chef Tom Kitchin after supporting the Citadel Youth Centre’s Citadel Suppers 2017. The volunteers raised money for the Citadel by cooking and serving a fabulous three-course dinner.
The Citadel has provided community-based youth work in the area since 1980.
Congratulations to our group of parents and pupils who completed this year’s Pedal for Scotland event, raising over £2,400 for the school.
It’s still possible to donate via our JustGiving page.
Well done to everyone who took part, particularly Joe (S1), Ruth (S1), Archie (S2), Ben (S3), Sam (S4), and Jack (S6)
Trinity Academy is 124 years old today and that means 2018 will be a big anniversary year! To start to celebrate the school’s long history and heritage in Edinburgh we have added a history page to this website.
Our first Parent Council meeting of 2016/2017 is next week — September 5th at 7:00pm.
We have a great group of committed parents who each give a few hours every term to help in a variety of ways. Some attend meetings, some help with fundraising, some help run events, and some help with campaigns or communications.
What could you do? What time could you give? Every little bit helps, and all talents are welcome!
We would particularly welcome new members from those who have just started in S1 this year but everyone is welcome and there is no pressure to speak. Please come along next Tuesday and learn more about the parent council and the life of the school.
The latest edition of our Parent Council newsletter is now available. This issue includes the latest news from the Parent Council updates on our fundraising and you can learn about the life of one our former pupils since she left school.
We hope you enjoy it.
We’ve updated our 50:50 club details page to make it easier to join by online banking. At the moment the prize fund each month is sitting at over £70 so it’s a great time to join and every winner gets a nice bonus if their number is drawn!
At this week’s information evening for P7 families joining the school we provided those attending with a pamphlet with information from parents about the school. Our aim was to pass on helpful information from other parents at the start of a family’s journey through high school.
Congratulations to our students who won gold and silver awards in this year’s Scottish Maths Council Mathematics.

Winning students collected their awards during a ceremony at Edinburgh University. This is a great achievement by Trinity Academy students who put in one of the top performances in this region.
